In Fullness of Being

A Service of Silence & Beholding:an unhurried time in which to dwell at the heart of the Eucharist

Sunday 23rd October
8am
St. Mary's Church, Sullington. RH20 4AE

We are love creatures.
We yearn for wholeness, happiness, and peace in love.
But the more we look outside ourselves, the less we are settled within...
the very yearning of the human heart is thwarted
by modern culture's preoccupation with material things.
Love cannot be bought or purchased; it is not a commodity to exchange.
love is the law of evolution written on the human heart.
we are created to love and to evolve in love...
Love is a form of worship, a transcendent spiritual power ...

Hearing the Song of the Beloved

Christ sings the Song of Songs as his own holy song of songs.
Christ in our midst sings the Song of Songs in his midst...
Christ in the Song knocks at the door of your heart, saying:
Come within, and see.

Drawing on the wisdom writings of the Song of Songs and of the Christian mystics, we shall gather again for

A Service of Silence & Beholding:

an unhurried time in which to dwell at the heart of the Eucharist

Come within, and see.

Summer Solitude

During August we have been having a rest so there will be no 'Service of Silence & Beholding' on Sunday 28th.

We resume in September, beginning with a Quiet Garden morning here at Wild Fortune on 14th September; there are spaces at the moment. If you would like to come please email or phone to book a place. There is no charge.

The next Service of Silence & Beholding will be on Sunday September 25th at 8a.m. at St. Mary's Sullington.

Still Waters resumes on October 1st at St. Mary's Church, Sullington. No need to book. Further details next time.

Solitude is the womb from which we are born. Within our hearts solitude we find eucharistic confluence where God, community and self suffuse one another with Love. It is a way of being in the world that coinheres with the transcendent God's willingness to be absolutely immanent within the creation. This being in the world in solitude gives shape to our existence. It is in solitude that we come to be for the sake of the community of creation. It is in solitude, that we become Eucharist.

Whoever is fed with love is fed with Christ.'

Mary Magdalene

A Service of Silence & Beholding: an unhurried time in which to dwell at the heart of the Eucharist

Sunday, 24th July, 8am at St. Mary’s Sullington

The readings & meditation, from the Song of Songs,
the Psalms and Gospel of John,
will lead us into our shared silence,
in the company of St. Mary Magdalene, the Apostle to the Apostles,
the woman who declares ‘I have seen the Lord’.

All are welcome.

During August we will be resting,
so there will be no Still Waters, Quiet Garden or Silence & Beholding.

Peace be with you.

Brother Sun & Sister Moon

A Midsummer Service of Silence & Beholding

an unhurried time in which to dwell at the heart of the Eucharist

Sunday 26th June at 8am

St. Mary's Church, Sullington, West Sussex RH20 4AE

This months 'Service of Silence & Beholding' falls on the final day of the Flower and Craft Festival held every other year at St. Mary's Church and the Tithe Barn of Sullington Manor Farm. It is also midsummer, the solstice falling just a few days ago. In this beautiful setting, woven with the silence and our own personal meditation, will be readings from the celtic and mystic Saints and poets along with words of Jesus from sacred text, drawing us into a union beyond place and time.

You are warmly invited to participate in this community of contemplative prayer, seeking the face of the Beloved in silence, meditation and the beauty of creation.

Peace be with you.
