Everything is Being & Presence ...

A Service of Silence & Beholding

an unhurried time in which to dwell at the heart of the Eucharist

Sunday 24th April 2016
8am
St. Mary's Church, Sullington, RH20 4AE

Throughout my whole life, during every moment I have lived,
the world has gradually been taking on light and fire for me,
until it has come to envelop me in one mass of luminosity,
glowing from within ...
the divine radiating from the depths of matter a-flame.

Encounter at Dawn

Encounter at Dawn
 c. Tessa Holland 2011
Easter week ... of wrestling with words - of wanting to be silent... preparing for Still Waters tomorrow morning up at St. Mary's Church

The painting and the mystic saying more than I can speak ...

O guiding night!
O night more lovely than the dawn!
O night that has united the Lover with his beloved, transforming the beloved
in her Lover.
The Dark Night

Peace be with you.

The contemplative practice of suppleness ...

No ... not an exercise class, but a Still Waters session of contemplative practice:
a time to enter silence, still the mind and encounter the present moment in quiet

Our meditation for this session will draw on an Aramaic interpretation of the Jesus saying,
'Blessed are the meek: for they will inherit the earth'

We gather from 8.30am in silence; led meditation at 9am, followed by a further time of silence, concluding with an opportunity for shared insight and circle of blessing.

Saturday 5th March 2016
Wild Fortune Prayer Loft
8.30 - 10am

This our final 'winter' session here at Wild Fortune in the prayer loft.
From April Still Waters will be returning to St. Mary's Church, Sullington.

No need to book, but it would be really helpful to know that you intend to come so we put out enough chairs. Do bring a cushion if you like sitting on the floor.

Peace be with you

To turn and turn again ...

Response

Turn
‘Metanoia’
Turn around
Face the Holy
Attend
Give yourself to this one thing
Again and again

See
‘Theoria’
Awaken
Be seen
Shed the mask
And untruth of yourself
Enter this place of nakedness
 before God
Be illumined
Be transfigured
by light and love

Be
‘Theosis’
Be in God
Walk in the way of the Beloved
At one with the Holy One
i am echoing I AM
No longer I
But Christ

Turn
See
Be
Turn

Reflection on 'Metanoia' for Ash Wednesday

Metanoia

God in His Name saves.

We enter the sphere of God when we turn,
METANOIA in Greek …

We are illumined in God’s kingdom when we turn and see, THEORIA.

We are God’s own in His Kingdom when seeing
is grace of being in the ground of being,
which is THEOSIS….

Turning,
[the one who seeks God] stays with the emptiness.

Seeing,
he/she does not cultivate anything.

Being
oned with the One, he/she does not tell anyone.

It is God’s business whether the Spirit
inspires speech in His Name.

Still Waters - 6th February

Still Waters
a time to enter silence, still the mind and encounter the present moment in quiet

Saturday 6th February 2016
Wild Fortune Prayer Loft

8.30am – Gathering in quiet in the prayer loft;
9am – Introduction and input followed by companionable silence & meditation;
9.45am – Optional sharing of insight;
10am -  Circle of blessing

This Saturday, we shall be led by Mike, an experienced meditator and a regular at Still Waters. All are welcome. If you are hoping to join us, please let us know, so that we can put out enough chairs - there's plenty of space. Please note the prayer loft is upstairs and that it is a shoe free zone – so do bring woolly socks or slippers if you wish!

You are welcome to use the drive for parking, though if you think you might like to go for a walk in the woods afterwards, it might be better to park in the next road along from us and walk through the twitten into our lane.

If you’d like to know more or get directions, please do be in touch through this blog or via email - wildfortune@btinternet.com

Peace be with you
